The Asia-Pacific Film Festival (APFF) is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the region, founded in 1953. APFF is an annual event organised by the Federation of Motion Picture Producers in Asia-Pacific (FPA) and has been hosted by various cities across 25 different countries and regions. It serves as a significant platform for showcasing the best of cinematic talent and creativity from the Asia-Pacific, bringing together filmmakers, artists, industry professionals, and enthusiasts to celebrate excellence in cinema.
The Federation of Motion Pictures Producers in Asia-Pacific first held the Asia-Pacific Film Festival in 1954 in Tokyo, Japan. Since this founding moment, members of the organisation have taken turns hosting the event and providing awards to those involved in the cinematographic industry, a tradition that has continued for 70 years - now commemorating the 61st Asia-Pacific Film Festival.
The 62nd Asia-Pacific Film Festival is hosted by the Federation of Motion Picture Producers in Asia-Pacific and organised by Lomo Pictures Sdn Bhd at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
